Building Your Self-Care Routine
Learn How to Prioritize Yourself
Self-care is defined as “the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider” according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Self-care starts with listening to yourself and figuring out what you need on a day-to-day basis.
Some examples of good practices for self-care:
• Start a journal
• Meditate
• Do something you love
• Appreciate the small things
• Move your body
• Eat well
Practicing self-care consistently and building a routine for yourself will help you be able to cope with the ups and downs that life throws at us.
